Alongside very many others, I'm jumping over to Bluesky. I'm not saying I'll stop posting here, but I'll be more active/interesting/better looking over at https://t.co/guWRRhzlrg .
not universal but striking how often grad students from working class backgrounds r like “teaching? I love teaching! It’s the whole job right” vs how often others are like “oh, teaching is okay, I wish I could teach my research specialty, these freshmen aren’t rigorous thinkers”
Un-Christian behavior and bad theology. The achievement of divinity is an historical unfolding. When Peter was given the keys, it was known he and his successors would fumble more often than not--but also that we could slowly get ever closer to truth. We have a duty to change.
@DavidVeevers1 In my experience, you're going to have to revise your citations by hand at the end anyway. But until then, Zotero allows you to be messy--move things around, run into old references you forgot you had, etc. I'm all for tech that facilitates a messy writing process.
Graduate students should remember that anything they post online is permanent so they should take extra special care to make sure it’s exceedingly deranged.
If you're seeing this post, then unfortunately you already missed my presentation on the "boundaries" of Pictland. That's okay, I forgive you. Anyway, I'm in Rome for the #EAA2024 . Hope to run into lots of you cool people!
2fa and its ilk makes logging into anything an absolute nightmare and it takes me like 20 minutes of fighting pop-ups and extra steps before I can actually do anything ever. but also cybersecurity is important. So the only recourse is to throw the computer away
