Today, Appetite by @PenguinRandomCA just unveiled the cover of my debut cookbook, PRAIRIE, which I co-wrote with fellow food writer @wanderwoman10!
We both got hard copies too, so I took mine to my hometown of #yxe to open with my best friend. πβ₯οΈ An exciting moment!
Dill pickle pepperoni sticks from European Market in #yyc are ABSOLUTELY a must-try treat. Run, don't walk, my pickle-lovin' pals!

Not sure if this is the best platform to share a personal piece about fictional gay hockey players and food scenes, but JUST IN CASE β€οΈπ³οΈβπ

Made a new year's resolution to write more about my home away from home, Prague!
Starting off with a VERY tasty plate of food that every traveller should add to their to-eat list. ππ¨πΏ

Had a blast in Kelowna for @CCMAofficial awards week! Headed home to #yyc a day early, but DEFINITELY had enough fun with a ton of talented singers. The Canadian country music scene is brimming with talent. β€οΈπ΅β¨ Always leave the CCMAs feeling inspired!
π΄ Update: Ongoing hazardous materials incident π΄
The hazardous materials incident in the Manchester Industrial area remains ongoing.
Throughout the afternoon our Tactical Unit officers conducted multiple controlled detonations of the hazardous materials, now believed to include picric acid.
Along with the Calgary Fire Department, our Tactical Unit has conducted extensive testing of the substances. Following further analysis and the establishment of a safe transport method, the remaining hazardous materials will be relocated to expedite the detonation process and minimize impact to the public. Safety of the public and emergency service personnel remains our top priority. As this is an ongoing incident, no further details related to the transport will be released at this time.
At this time, the evacuation zone remains in effect and Calgarians are asked to avoid the area while our operations continue. Additional updates will be shared when available.
Our investigation into this incident continues. At this time, it is believed that a local moving company was contracted to dispose of several substances, however the substances were mislabeled prior to being transported. As a result of this mislabeling, the substances sat for approximately 10 days.
When the package was opened, the true contents of the package was discovered and our Tactical Unit was engaged to determine a plan for disposal. This investigation remains ongoing.
βNo Drone Zone β
As part of our response to the ongoing hazardous materials incident in the Manchester Industrial area, a NOTAM has been issued for an area of two nautical miles & 2000ft vertical restriction from the centre of 4630 Macleod Trail. This includes a flight restriction for all RPAS, drones & unmanned aircrafts. This NOTAM is in effect until further notice.
Thank you for your co-operation.

Time to head home to π¨π¦!
6 days later than planned a la Air Canada strike, but I was in a fortunate position of having a friend to stay with and being able to do the majority of my work remotely. Still, happy to be heading home, I miss my creature comforts after awhile! :)
