I’ve MC’d an event where the bride’s mother walked up and landed the planner a heavy slap in front of guests.

The engagement was scheduled for 1pm. By 12:30pm the decorator was only just starting to bring items out of the van, and the caterers had not even arrived at the venue. Tension rose so fast that family members were already calling the police and talking about having the planner arrested. The worst part is that all of this happened because the planner kept being too soft and polite, even after several vendor meetings where everyone had agreed on timelines. She was just too soft!!🤧

See ehn, People will not hesitate to destroy your name and your business if you are not firm. That is why I always advise planners and anyone managing a team to stay strict while the work is still pending. You can smile and be friendly after everything has been delivered successfully.

Every successful event planner I know operates this way on site. It is not wickedness. It is simply being serious enough to get the job done before the clients start looking for someone to blame.
