@Poerbler I’m done following any recruiting. It’s funny how we get a crystal ball and then the guy immediately heads elsewhere. Happened with Spell, gonna happen with everyone else from that last visit. And all our fan accounts want to talk about is how amazing CMC has been recruiting?
@ByCSauertieg For the pace he has, he certainly gets caught on his heels a ton. Also seems to always be looking for the big move, even if not there.
Block was definitely stalling though and I salute the ref for doing everything he could to not end it on that (stalemate call on the edge).
@ThePSUTroll Basically the 2025 football season. Last year was the anomaly where everything went right and we won in spite of a lot of the program’s plaguing issues. This is SOP for Gadowsky teams and frankly if you’re willing to invest what they have, it’s likely time to look for a new HC
@FreddieTheOsFan Westburg will (thinking positively). Holliday won’t. You never want to injure your hand as a hitter, but if there’s an “ideal” time for that to happen, it’s before Spring Training
@NextNetworkJosh We were in the upper deck and came away very unimpressed with the atmosphere at large. Didn’t seem very loud for a game of this magnitude
@ralphDrussoATH As a Penn Stater and Ravens fan, the Harbaugh/Franklin firings were basically the same thing. Both had won consistently for a long time. Both had run their course. Especially with these performances in “all in” type seasons
@SamFremin This is my favorite saying of yours. This search ended much better than it could have. He’s a very good coach and I’m admittedly excited by the change in culture. I can get behind him and believe he can succeed. That said, you don’t fire Franklin to specifically hire Campbell
@Poerbler It also FEELS like he has more recruiting momentum than he probably actually does. He ended up quickly at a P4 job and was able to take our entire class- they’re not “novel” commits. Napier and Kelly didn’t go anywhere so there’s no comp. Interested to see how he does longer term
@ByCSauertieg He’s hurt. Hurt his foot in training camp, they kinda downplayed it, and then his hamstring, knee, and ankle have all been hurt since then. Likely through compensation. His legs are no longer a factor to hide Oline play and everything has kinda fallen apart without that
@DaveScarangella Franklin is a very good coach. 10+ wins and NY6 bowls were the *norm* for us under him. Anyone acting like this wasn’t a great hire by VT is sour to be sour. I will say, I am disappointed he never acknowledged the fans/community. He was appreciated, it was just time to part ways
@Poerbler They lost the game when they played conservatively on 3rd and 10. Just ONE time I’m begging someone to actually go for the win instead of playing to not lose
@ByCSauertieg And thing with that is- it was never going to stay together anyway. Too many times (Justin Fields comes to mind) we jumped out fast 2 classes ahead, then slowly bled out as early-identified talent boomed and realized they could go anywhere.
@TheGOATFollower This is infuriating. Nobody- including the announcers- seemed to realize the game was over if he just went down in bounds. Reminds me of Devyn Ford in 2020 against Indiana
@ObuOrioles Was in a Ravens focus group last month and they asked “what is the best part about being a Ravens fan?” I said that in any given season, I can rest assured the front office will look to put the best team on the field every year. The difference between the two franchises is stark
@EutawStReport I think it started even earlier than that. The game against the Rangers where Gunnar had the lego cleats and went 0-5 with 5 Ks is where I pinpoint the collapse
@_supcaroline When he caught that jump ball TD on 4th down against Michigan in 2021. Was sitting right there and thought we were winning that one.
I also saw him play QB/punter against my HS in the VA playoffs my sophomore year. We beat em bad and I thought nothing of it. Little did I know…
