As a DeFi user, one problem keeps coming back no matter how many new protocols launch.

Borrowing becomes fragmented as soon as you go cross-chain.

Liquidity is spread across many chains, but your position is not.

When you borrow on one network, your collateral is stuck there.

If you want to access opportunities elsewhere, you are forced to bridge, unwind, or fully close your position.

Instead of managing one position, you end up managing fragments.

This fragmentation creates friction everywhere.

Rebalancing means extra steps and extra risk.

Moving fast means sacrificing safety.

Being active means paying unnecessary overhead.

What’s frustrating is that this is not a user problem.

It’s a design problem.

Cross-chain borrowing today is built around chains, not around positions.

A better approach would treat borrowing as one continuous position, even if liquidity, trading, and usage happen across multiple chains.

Your collateral shouldn't become isolated just because you want to move.

Your loan shouldn't break just because you want to stay flexible.

Another missing piece is collateral flexibility.

In most systems, collateral is passive.

It just sits there, waiting.

But active users want to manage risk and opportunity at the same time.

Being able to trade collateral without closing a loan changes how capital efficiency works entirely.

If cross-chain borrowing were designed this way, DeFi would feel very different.

Less fragmented.

More intuitive.

More aligned with how users actually behave.

DeFi does not need more features layered on top of broken flows.

It needs better primitives.

And solving fragmentation at the position level is where real progress starts.
