I keep seeing people saying (in response to whatever political fuckery of the day) "our country is better than this".
It quite manifestly is not.
Like, of course people blocked a lifeboat. Of course our politicians are against human rights. Of course profit is put ahead of health

@nottrobin I think it's incredibly important to find the good and hold it high, but we can't keep saying "this isn't us" every time, when we really mean "this isn't what we should be". Celebrate the victories, but don't write the travesties off as outliers when there's a pattern
