Although some critics may say that Francesca Hong should've walked back previous radical statements to win the Wisconsin gubernatorial race, E. Day (@dawgalova) and T.E. Moon (@TEMoon333) argue that it was her failure to meet the moment in our era of political boldness that cost her the victory on Tuesday night.

@Johnyalamo@AdamBazaldua@CityOfDallas@DallasCountyTx Sure, for me generally I just am comfortable paying more taxes if they are working. We have a different perception if they are truly working for us. I want more spending on addressing the socioeconomic drivers of crime rather than just dumping more on policing as an example.
@Johnyalamo@AdamBazaldua@CityOfDallas@DallasCountyTx One of my criticisms of prop u thing is that the 4000 number seems a little arbitrary when it ignores the growth of all the overlapping police forces like Dallas college/DISD police/DART police, all have hundreds of more officers. These not being under dpd skews the ratio comps.
@Johnyalamo@AdamBazaldua@CityOfDallas@DallasCountyTx Like its one thing to ask people, Do you want lower taxes. Its another to ask do you want to close your local library to cut taxes. I believe dallas's 10 years of rate cuts have led us too the 2nd question.
@Johnyalamo@AdamBazaldua@CityOfDallas@DallasCountyTx The plurality of responses to the City of dallas survey indicated that people want to increase taxes to pay for expansion of city services. It is a departure from past surveys. It would be strange if no council people represented that position, no?
@CinemarxismBret@wes_dsa Yes the problem was not being able reject or not but explicitly conditionong acceptance in a binding mou. There were compliance concerns. Wrt endorsement we need to be explicit yes/no based on an application to a large extent.
If well-financed establishment-backed Dems are so incompetent that they cannot *easily* defeat underfinanced lefty candidates in their own partyโs primary, that calls into question whether they have the basic โelectabilityโ competence needed to beat Republicans in a general.
