Brainstorming 🤯, solving problems with science and engineering 👩🔬, never stop learning 👩🏫 - Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Hey @ieeeICASSP! What is happening with the letters and the visas to attend the conference? We cannot book air tickets and hotel without confirmation that we can make it to the conference
Science is the engine behind American prosperity. Government funded research led to many of the breakthroughs we use today in AI. AI may well supercharge scientific productivity and the way to take advantage of it is to increase investment in scientific research.
Unfortunately it seems we are going in the opposite direction https://t.co/cJQtqrLS2s
I am all for increasing efficiency and cutting red tape, but this should be coupled with increasing funding for science, not reducing it.
@murat_kocaoglu_@PurdueECE I liked the first book by Murphy a lot and use it for my class. The second looks good too but I haven't had to get my hand on it so far. My plan is to study Bishop's DL book this semester and I am already excited 😊😊
Our paper entitled "Instance-wise Feature Acquisition with Classifier Selection Option for Structured Data Instances" has been accepted at #ICASSP2025.
My PhD student, Sachini Ekanayake, successfully defended her thesis on datum-wise learning & inference for supervised classification 🎉! She focused on interesting problems at the intersection of instance-wise feature acquisition and classifier selection #ualbany#machinelearning
@ProfessaJay Finally, someone said it out loud! Thank you. I disagree with so much handholding. What are these students going to do when they graduate and they need to keep/find a job??
