UK DATA JOB MARKET - May 2026
Here's what the market actually looks like right now:
📍 London — 1,900+ open roles. Highest salaries. Most competitive.
📍 North West — 444 postings. Growing fast. Less noise.
📍 South East — 542 postings. Mix of corporate and scale-up.
Hybrid roles make up 48% of listings. On-site requirements are creeping back, especially in financial services.
Salary ranges: → Junior / Entry: £28k–£38k → Mid-level Analyst: £38k–£55k → Senior / Lead: £70k–£100k+ → Head of Data: £90k+
If you're between roles, the North West is genuinely worth a look. Less competition. Real salaries. Real growth.
The tools were never the real skill in the first place.
AI exposed them all.
It has always been thinking, problem framing, and turning data into impact oriented decisions.
If you’re a data engineer or aspiring Data Engineer.
Get this book and sit with it.
In short any data enthusiast who is really interested in know how data flows, read this book.
The way my views are on my timeline posts, it'll take the next 5 to 10 years for me to get 5m impressions.
My views only increase when I engage other people's accounts.
How are you guys faring on that side? What is everyone doing differently?
I turned down this role at the third stage for a few reasons…
But if you’re based in Blackpool UK or nearby, I can recommend you.
It’s an experimentation / analytics role, solid opportunity for the right person.
Honourable Minister @BalaamBarugahar just wanted to say that data is the difference between guessing and leading
I’m a Data Analyst

I’d be honoured and am open to opportunities🤝
lol adelabu said the light issue is beyond his control, there are things that people will say to their citizens and you just know they don’t respect you at all.
Verified accounts with low impressions come here….
If your posts aren’t getting impressions, your content might not be the problem.
Your followers might be.
X doesn’t show your post to the whole world first.
It shows it to a small sample — mostly your own followers.
If they scroll past…
The algorithm assumes:
“This content isn’t even interesting to people who chose to follow you.”
And it kills the reach.
That’s how you end up with:
10k+ followers
…but 30 views in 30 minutes.
A big audience that’s not aligned with your current content will quietly hold you back.
Especially if:
– They followed you for something else
– They’re no longer active
– They’re not really your niche
The system rewards interest, not numbers.
So the real game is this:
Build an audience that actually cares about what you post now.
Not just people who followed you at some point.
Fix that, and your impressions will follow.
Also, when you see your Mutuals post early especially under 30mins the algorithm has selected you to know if the post is worthy of attention or not….
@_DeejustDee Yeah....it happens. Just find something you can enjoy for today - sleep, movies, songs, anything...am sure by tomorrow or end of today, the motivation would have returned
