@MelbaofNM I investigated allegations of child abuse and neglect for 23 years. Sometimes law enforcement would be present and I was always impressed with their respectful, caring demeanor. They were incredibly patient, helpful, and authoritative. Often better at social work than many of us.

@JerusalemDemsas I recently retired from investigating allegations of child abuse & neglect for 23 yrs. These stats do not resonate with my experience. Like most human phenomena, a smaller portion of the pop. accounts for most CPS involvement. Incentives in CPS favor ignoring over investigating.
