These dogs that were reported in a cage behind St. Peter Apostle Church, and Austin Police officers conducted an extended search in a nearby wooded area to locate them. They are now safe and currently at the shelter 🙏🏻

Serious cold for the Austin-area overnight into Monday morning. Widespread teens with a record low of 17 in the forecast for Austin. Wind chills as cold as a few degrees below zero in the Hill Country. Y’all stay warm and stay safe.

From 12 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. this morning, officers responded to 1,068 calls for service, including 67 collisions, 32 traffic hazards, and 10 people transported to shelters.
🚧 Heads up: Both north and south flyovers at 45 & 183 are closed for most of the day.
Slow down, give yourself extra time, and stay weather-aware. Your safety matters.
Our crews have been responding to multiple collisions due to icy roads. Last night, a patrol vehicle with an officer inside was struck by a pickup that lost control. Thankfully, everyone is safe.

6:43 PM - Alright, here comes the main event. Freezing rain is developing to our SW, and this will move across the Austin-area later this evening and tonight. Plan on freezing drizzle to ramp up into freezing rain and potentially some sleet in the coming hours with icing quickly picking up as the heavier precip moves in.
The Austin-area and the Hill Country have been upgraded to an Ice Storm Warning through noon Sunday. In this area, widespread icing of around 0.25" is expected with some amounts up to 0.5". A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect east of Austin for icing of 0.1" to 0.25"+.
In the Ice Storm Warning area, travel may become nearly impossible tonight into Sunday. Scatt'd power outages also possible. #atxwx
