He is the champion in my heart. In 30 years no one will remember this part of history, but I will remember how he fought with utmost skill, wisdom, calmness and grace against all odds and not losing himself and it will always encourage me.

I don't think we fully realise how big of a deal it is for an ACTIVE f1 driver who is at the peak of his career who is only 26 years old to not only buy a racing team that will take part in MULTIPLE feeder series that he himself raced in less than 10 years ago but also personally invest millions of dollars into a charity directly going to help kids less privileged than himself to get to his level one day.

Not just this but he has been planning this for a really long time and used his branding and connections to form a team that will make this venture successful and also has more sponsors than the F1 team he races for had when he joined them all before it was announced to public.

This is unprecedented and legendary and needs to be celebrated regardless of whether you are a fan of him personally or not.

I don’t blame Ant at all. After all, he’s just a 19-year-old teenager who still needs Bono to tell him over the team radio the difference between a single yellow and a double yellow, and even when to hit the brakes.

The fact that he could say something like that so naturally makes me think Mercedes must regularly shift the blame onto GR in internal meetings—pinning mistakes on him before they’ve even investigated what actually happened. If that’s what he hears all the time, it’s no surprise those words came out so easily.

The irony is that last year, when Ant was struggling through the European races and facing heavy criticism, it was GR—at this very same Hungarian Grand Prix—who publicly defended him in interviews, even putting himself down to take some of the pressure off Ant. And this year, GR has continued to show him nothing but respect.

In the end, it’s just another version of The Farmer and the Snake.
