@AdvantagePlays@CaseyWitt_@VitalVegas Speaking of no GMP, from a strategic standpoint, why do you think Fisher didn’t bother to lock in his construction prices? I just can’t understand why such a detail was left unaddressed, especially when there are tariffs and a war is involved
@VitalVegas Scott, how do you read that Fisher/A’s have announced a high profile minority investor and his impact on the stadium situation? Project is still a billion short in funds along with other problems such as no Guaranteed Maximum Price locked in.
@AdvantagePlays I’d be really curious to hear your take on the news of Mark Cuban buying a minority stake of the A’s. How does Cuban add/change the stadium situation (e.g., about a billion short in funding, no GMP, no official rendition, etc)?
@AdvantagePlays@BenKolina@VitalVegas@serenity67@CaseyWitt_ I’d love to see Fisher/MLB go to politicians and ask them for full public funding to complete a stadium - right as we’re approaching the 2028 elections.
Crazier things have happened but talk about political suicide (and during a bad economy too).
@jc_bradbury Couple of additional questions, how can an actual stadium budget be determined if there is no “official rendering,” no official construction documentation & no guaranteed maximum price locked in?
@Wilson__Valdez@Angry_Staffer Maggie Haberman, Jonathan Karl and Bob Woodward have all the details and information but they’re holding off reporting it until they can put it in their next books — just wait.
@AdvantagePlays@CaseyWitt_@VitalVegas With so many unknowns from future revenues to labor expenses and stadium costs, the presentation feels like a grift from Fisher? Too harsh?
@AdvantagePlays@CaseyWitt_@VitalVegas 100%. Thanks.
Guess I should have clarified my question. Isn’t an investor facing great uncertainty? Example, no Guaranteed Maximum Price on stadium costs to unknown future w/CBA. How can investors qualify whats in front of them with so many key unknowns?
@AdvantagePlays@CaseyWitt_@VitalVegas Just a guess but an investor would have to be nuts to invest prior to a probable lock out. What will the new CBA look like? What if revenue sharing is eliminated, there goes Fisher’s income (investors too)? How long will the lock be? No games, no revenue!
@AdvantagePlays@OaklandRooted@VitalVegas Please correct me if I’m wrong but:
- project can’t sit idle for 90 days or out clause is triggered,
- Fisher had 2 spend 100 million 1st, b4 accessing public $,
- now he’s faces a potential lockout, tariffs & war with no Guarantee Maximum Pricing
@AdvantagePlays@CaseyWitt_@VitalVegas@vegaspilgrim I gotta imagine having no guaranteed maximum price locked into construction costs (along with no official rendering and construction documents) doesn’t help him one bit either.
@AdvantagePlays@CaseyWitt_@VitalVegas@vegaspilgrim How do you think a potential or probable MLB work stoppage in 2027 impacts Fisher? MLB stoppage means no revenue. Future projected revenue is unknown until a deal is signed - does an investor want to jump into such a volatile situation?
@CaseyWitt_ And good luck attracting investors when there’s a strong likelihood of prolonged work stoppage for the 2027 season. Any potential investors is also going to be reassured knowing that Fisher doesn’t have got things like a guaranteed maximum price either
@VitalVegas Isn’t Fisher required to spend a certain amount of his own money so that he can access public funds? Plus the project cannot stand idle for a certain number of days so there was going to be some money spent and activity on site
