ego is going to be the career-killer of the next decade. experienced people too stubborn to learn. polished people too cool to be cringe. people who take pride in being on the edge hiding how behind they are.

One single interface to get things done has been an old hypothesis of what's coming next, but I think @bot is actually the first product that figured it out

My @bot just booked me train tickets from Athens to Thessaloniki on a website that’s on Greek and hard to navigate for a human. Odysseus is my travel planner who does all the logistics for me now, which has been my second part time job and required time and attention (oh boy how many mistakes I made confusing dates and times bcs of that).
Model picker has been proclaimed a dead end by @Lovable. The latest model in stock still matters, but if everyone has it, what else keeps users around?

Decision fatigue has never been more real. How do you decided on which model to use, or which mode Chat or Work to choose - on top of the struggle with the choice between thousand ideas to focus on.
Amazon rolled out an assistant-driven feature letting customers ask Alexa for Shopping to verify whether a text/email/call claiming to be from Amazon is real, aimed at cutting through impersonation scams.

3 - If you're not doing IC work and you're managing teams, you most certainly write a lot every single day, and the way you show up comes out in the form of your Slack messages, written email follow-ups, and board reports. You can do all of that with or without AI, but the quality of your text will literally affect decision-making and the outcome of your management.
I've seen really good writers wrestling with one sentence and rewriting it 5 times, so I think writing is hard by design, and it tends to be one of the skills everyone wants to optimize with AI. Which is fine, unless you find a way to keep your original thoughts unobstructed by it.
I realised that good writing skills will define your career in 2027.
Everything is text.
Your CV is text. Your whole LinkedIn profile is a bunch of text. Whatever you say online comes out in the form of text. If you film Shorts or TikToks - also spoken text. And the better this text has been said, the more times it has been rewritten and edited before it has been recorded.
Your work is almost always a pile of text, too. So, if you were able to somehow ignore this until this sentence, here we go - it is actually gonna affect you, too.
Those people who have been writing professionally for decades could always discern whether anything you have written is written badly (most commonly, with the help of AI).
There are a few reasons to put effort into producing good writing:
1 - If you can't write well in 2026, you can't be found, and you can't be heard. Every single time people encounter you for the first time is through the form of a written text.
There's tons of poorly written content online: AI-generated CVs, texts, or posts that don't communicate anything valuable. It always has been out there; before AI, it was just that with AI it quadrupled in volume. If you actually have something to say and write in a clear way, you'll stand out every single time.
2 - Your conversation with AI is a bunch of text. If you struggle to write up what you want precisely, you won't get much out of using it. You won't be able to build agents for your work, and any attempts to search for anything will get you a generic, mediocre answer.
