Not a fan of doxxing but the reason it's on the table is because she's insulated from consequences through other channels.
Kamala Harris picked the most progressive VP choice of her finalists — the one who will compliment any priorities on childcare and child poverty, the one labor leaders preferred, and who said the Uncommited movement should be heard. This is an unambiguously optimistic signal.
When I review organizations' policies I often find language that restricts internships to college students and there's rarely a good reason for it. It's a very easy change to make to put "valuing lived experience" into action.
@doc_thoughts And as a result you have to anticipate that your work will be undermined. You have to anticipate that it may be coopted. And then apply that understanding to determine who you work with and who you don't. And where you draw your lines. Not enough DEI practitioners take that step.
@doc_thoughts I appreciate the qualifier of 'efforts'. I agree 100%, DEI has been weaponized and has done more upholding than interrupting.
But I hesitate to critique DEI in itself. I think it can be done well, but to do it well you must be okay with being a threat to the institution.
@Coleen4SD I assumed you voted for Hilary, but the original post was about "middle aged white women". You appear to be a part of that group and I think it would make more sense to say "some of us" voted for Trump instead of "they".
