Thank God Trump won.
So I can watch UFC fights at the White House with nothing but patriotic commercials in between …instead of having to watch whatever left-wing, America-hating, land-acknowledging, drag show, commie trash, Kamala Harris would have done…
I voted for this.
The article is totally false btw. You can add up every government incentive my companies have ever received and they amount to less than 2% of the value of SpaceX and Tesla!
And many of these incentives actually helped our competitors disproportionately to Tesla or SpaceX.
For example, when President Trump removed the $7500 tax credit for electric vehicles, Tesla sales actually INCREASED, because more buyers shifted from other EV makers to Tesla.
Peter Thiel on Elon Musk: My number one rule is to never compete with Elon on anything, so I would never bet against Elon
“I was a close partner of his at PayPal in the late 90s early 2000s and after PayPal, Elon set out to start these two both rocket and car companies, SpaceX and Tesla
I think the conventional wisdom on Elon was that these were both completely harebrained projects and if one of them had succeeded that you have to sort of question it and when both of them succeeded, it suggests that he knows something other people don’t”
In 1980 Ronald Reagan convincingly won the presidency against Jimmy Carter, and also tipped the Senate. But the democrats maintained control of the House and Tip O’Neill remained speaker. That meant a lot of people voted for Reagan, but then voted democratic down ballot. They could do this knowing bipartisanship was possible - that the country had a coherent population, and differences were not so wide that people would refuse to work together.
Reagan was able to push his tax reduction plan through Congress. Tip O’Neill basically said ‘this is what the people voted for, so we will work with you.’ That could not happen today.
The US electorate is balkanizing because of too much immigration too fast - which is exploited by unscrupulous politicians. We will probably not see the kind of bipartisanship of the early 1980s again in our lifetimes - if ever. And this is why a 1924 style moratorium on immigration is necessary, coupled with aggressive assimilation policies and deportations of those who don’t really want to be American. And it’s why birthright citizenship is a disaster in present circumstances.
I hate to break it to you - but the United States is an absolute, incoherent shitshow.
The idea that we have ‘representative government’ is ridiculous. If that were true we would not have wasted billions killing Iranians for no reason at all. Some people wanted this - but the voters who elected this government did not.
Let’s go further. When Trump goes to China - he brings our ‘great billionaires’ with him. I can’t think of any more obvious symbol that we live in an oligarchy that does everything it can to manipulate outcomes - and that voting is a bit of a joke. It’s like he’s bringing with him ‘the ruling elite.’ Because that is what he did.
We have at least 40 million illegal aliens living here. Our business ‘leaders’ engineered this by bribing politicians to keep the border open - because they wanted to pay low wages and make mucho $$ for themselves. When people objected because their incomes were falling - the business leaders accused them of racism and funded Barack Obama to become POTUS.
The USA is $40 trillion in debt - and no one has a plan to solve that problem. Absolutely no one. This will blow up one day - and it will destroy normal people who save in dollars - because the unspoken plan is to destroy the currency and save the rich and destroy the rest. But people who own our homes - like Blackstone or Blackrock - won’t care because their assets will follow inflation. Everyone else will be reduced to paupers renting from them - their bank accounts gone.
The United States today is hopelessly dysfunctional. It lacks a coherent population that can even agree on anything. It is bankrupt - but the rest of the world is propping it up because they are also scared of what happens when the dollar collapses. It doesn’t have any smart leaders - and we have to watch insiders doing oil trades to make $$ on the Iran war - and the administration itself sells shit coins. Our foreign policy is a total joke - not strategic in any way at all. It is driven by special interests, and then not even followed through. And people are actuality making money on it - pump and dump coming straight from the White House.
This is a hell of a way to celebrate 250 Years! At least we can have a cage match on the White House lawn that degrades our entire history and underscores just how bad and ridiculous things are!
Thank you for your attention to this matter! Enjoy the circus! If you’re lucky you will be dead when the music stops!
@TheRightMelissa Im not mad at all...... Its just funny.... But at the end of the day I will be on the right side of history with this one and to ne perfectly honest they should of banned me I don't have the self control to be a cultist
YES, I bought SpaceX
NO, I do not care about the valuation
You’re getting…
THE BEST news site
THE most truthful AI
THE Best builder of things
THE Best military IPO
THE Best rocket scientists
THE Best internet provider
THE Best space company
And all got a massive injection of capital today.
Anyone telling you it’s “overpriced” is either clueless or dishonest.
Nobody… not even Elon… knows the full future value. But when a company has this many moonshot verticals, odds are at least one explodes in value.
That’s how asymmetric bets work.
Take the bet.
If the federal government took 100% of Elon’s wealth, it would only fund the government for 52 days.
Then it’s gone, and there’s nothing left to take.
The problem isn’t trillionaires.
“Elon Musk is a trillionaire.”
As a securities law attorney, please allow me to explain how anyone who says this is basically lying to you:
1. The Securities and Exchange Commission has a myriad of laws that prevent founders and other large stockholders of publicly traded companies from dumping their shares. There are substantial holding period requirements, volume of sales limitations and public reporting obligations for stock sales. Basically, Elon holds largely illiquid shares, he is a “trillionaire” on paper only, and the best analogy is when people peg your net worth based on your home’s market price. That’s not money in your pocket, that’s the house you live in.
2. All that money raised in the IPO? That’s not going into Elon’s pocket like the lying socialist idiots want you to believe. It’s a capital influx that will be used to make more rockets and get more payloads into orbit. It’s a CAPITAL investment—that money is like a business loan, it’s not your money to keep, it’s your money to grow the business.
3. If it WERE legal for Elon to dump his shares, the share price would crash basically instantly and the company could very well fail.
If you bought SpaceX shares in the IPO, congrats. You just bought a lottery ticket, just like Elon. May the odds ever be in your favor.
So the next time someone screeches about how unfair it is that Elon Musk creates wealth that benefits all of humanity, throw the truth back in their faces.
bro immigrated from Mexico and took a $28/hr contract welding job in 2015.
didn't even know what SpaceX was.
they gave him $10,000 in stock and let him buy more through payroll deductions.
that stake is now worth $880,000.
and he's one of 4,400 employees who became millionaires on Friday. welders. technicians. cafeteria staff.
