The Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) held a Passing-Out Religious Service for 293 recruits of Course 1/2026 at the School’s Auditorium on Sunday, 6 September 2026.

Held under the theme, “Called to Serve, Prepared for Duty in Reliance on God,” the service formed part of activities marking the successful completion of the recruits’ six-month basic military training. It provided an opportunity for the recruits, instructors, families and well-wishers to give thanks to God for His guidance and protection throughout the training period.

Ten(10) recruits undergoing training for Ghana’s security services have reportedly been dismissed after they were caught violating rules prohibiting the use of mobile phones during training.

The Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak disclosed that the recruits were dismissed as part of efforts to enforce discipline and strict compliance with training regulations within the security services.

INDONESIAN DEFENCE ATTACHÉ TO ABUJA PAYS COURTESY CALL ON CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, received the Indonesian Defence Attaché to Abuja, Colonel Aslam Setiawan, during a courtesy call at the Air Force Headquarters on Thursday, 20 August 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen the cordial relations between the Ghana Air Force and the Republic of Indonesia, while exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation in defence and aviation.

During the engagement, Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong expressed appreciation to Colonel Setiawan for the visit and reaffirmed the Ghana Air Force’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with friendly nations.

He noted that such engagements were important in promoting professional exchanges, strengthening bilateral defence relations and identifying areas of mutual interest that could contribute to national, regional and international security.

Colonel Setiawan expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff for the warm reception and conveyed Indonesia’s interest in strengthening defence cooperation with Ghana. He emphasised the importance of sustained engagement and professional exchanges in identifying mutually beneficial areas of collaboration between the two countries.

The two officers also discussed opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly training, capacity building and aviation, and expressed their commitment to maintaining engagements that would further strengthen relations between the Ghana Air Force and Indonesia.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of Ghana and Indonesia to fostering closer defence relations and enhancing cooperation in the aviation and security sectors.
