@joecarlsonshow Yeh also - why retire completely when you can have a fulfilling career, keep your mind active, have self worth, give back to society, help to shape where you work for the better…?
@JamesP728 £147.99 Greencoat UK wind (sounds better than it is - I’ve lost money despite reinvesting dividends)
£21.18 ASML (This one is a lot better up 81.16% despite only holding for around 1 year (partially more than a year partially less than a year).
Both in ISAs
=£169.17
@JamesP728@EdFrosty500 Mine should be £162 but not got it yet… Hargreaves Lansdown is quite slow on overseas dividend payments… I’m £476 (4.49%) down on my position though so the high dividend is like a consolation prize in a market where almost everything is up!
@JamesP728 Down over £600, around 0.25% ish.. but I’m not going to complain - I bought aggressively into Google and ASML before their run ups this year, so 2025 has been kind to me! Just need to find the 2026 versions!
@JamesP728@cashflow_king94 20% yield is no good if the NAV erodes over time.
Total return is far more important than a yield anyway. Yield means nothing if you don’t take into account other factors. Warren Buffets CAGR is about 20% btw absolutely phenomenal return if you expect this to be total return.
@agentrades@higgins31411@qualtrim You mean as the index? This is just not true @grok what is Amazon’s CAGR since 1997 compared to the S&P500? - do you thing all great companies have roughly the same rate of return?
@1919Ceepee@trentconsultant Is it not both? I think both are correct - especially for people who are training. Less so for consultants but that partly depends on speciality
@kinginvestings These are my 3 biggest positions as well.
1) AMZN
2) Meta in terms of my position side
3) Goog in terms of position size but I wish this was higher than meta at 2 or even 1
Coming it at 4th is: $ASML
Coming in at 5th is $NU
@grok@vxdenton@SamanthaTaghoy@grok 1)how much income tax would you pay on £100k if earnt by one member of the household? 2) How much national insurance? 3) how much council tax on average? 4) what are the average essential expenses for a household? 5) How much is left from £100k as disposable income?
