@lichthauch Revenge is for the Lord, and naming your kids after gods is ridiculous. But yes of course vows are important. It was not some random overnight decision. There's a reason why this happened
There aren't actually. In the polemic ranks of the American Catholic Church, there is not a wide range between Trads and progressives and the mushy cultural Catholics. The left and right have to have something to be perpetually mad about so they can shout it out all day online, and when both of those sides think the Pope didn't do what he was supposed to, you can be sure that he did, in fact, do what he was supposed to. AI is not abortion. It's not even dogma. And most of the time when we say "AI" were just talking about computers doing stuff faster than they used to, using humannty's collective knowledge. Which isn't artificial and isn't even intelligent.
@UrbanCourtyard Meanwhile, sitting all day at a desk, like a cog in machine, take years off your life. Math is math. Capitalism claims to love ideas, but it's done, in a very short period of time, what communism only dreamed of.
But...Jesus is fully God AND fully man. He doesn't lose His God status, which your conveniently pretending isn't part of the argument. If you can't be honest, then why engage people you disagree with? God condescended to His creation, took on our mortal flesh, and gave up His RIGHTS as God, to save us, while remaining fully God the entire time. That's the part that breaks your brain. That's why Jesus is, and always will be, the most influential force in the history of time. You wouldn't die for your belief that God is incapable of doing whatever He wants, but thousands die all the time for refusing to say He's not their Savior. And thus Christianity has spread to every corner of the earth, and all you can do is shake your fist at His mighty Church, like a madman, until you die.
@Ourit@JeffreyHelsdon@Pontifex Um, it's precisely because it DOESN'T make sense that makes you reject it. Fully God AND fully man is a paradox. Nonsense to the world and to you. You can't handle the paradox so you reject it. And you conveniently ignored the rest of my post.
Noted.
Trying to fit God into your human understanding? Ah yes classic failure of the ego. You can't make sense of the divine so you reject what doesn't make sense, in order to make your brain stop hurting. We base all of TIME on Jesus' life and death and there have been more martyrs for His sake, than all other religions combined. Only GOD has that kind of effect on His creation.
