I read somewhere long ago that psychological and evolutionary research indicates that a majority of men are subconsciously drawn to partners who share personality, behavioral, or even physical traits with their mothers. I have actually met a couple of individuals with dental issues like the individual in the video. I had an electronics technician the worked for me who brought a quart thermos’s of coffee every day which he usually consumed before lunch. You could tell he was in the lab because of the slightly sweet, slightly rotten smell of his breath. It was absokutekyhorrific. He was terrified of dentists, and simply refused to go even though he was in significant pain from his rotting gums.

I posted this already, but I figured it made more sens as a response to your post.

In the US, $25/hour is considered the base pay for a living wage. That works out to $50,000/year for a full-time employee. In California that rate is $30/hour which is a $60,000 annual salary. The profit margin for a decently run full-service restaurant is around 5%. I will leave it up to you to ponder the significance of those numbers.

Let’s say you own a small restaurant that is fairly successful and you do $1 million in business this year. Your profit margin after paying for food, labor, rent & utilities is around 5%. Let’s assume that you pay yourself out of the profits each month. If you multiply $1,000,000 times 5% you get $50,000 left for your salary as the restaurant owner.

To leave you with something else to think about, the “living wage” you insist I pay to my servers is exactly the same as the best you can do per year.

My wife and I generous tippers, primarily because both of us worked in restaurants while in school. Our normal tip is 20%, which on a $95.80 bill is $19.16 which is perfectly fine with me. It could even go up to 25% for a particularly great experience. However…when someone basically DEMANDS a significantly larger tip based on some bullshit formula, I have to draw the line. The tip in the photo is 40% of the check! If you change the multiplication (written as times it…really?) to 2 instead of 4 you get a 20% tip as the result. Aside from 40% being a bit too high for a regular meal, I have serious problems giving someone a 40% tip that uses the words “times it” instead of multiply!

I didn’t read your post closely enough. No, Sinners definitely is the the “best movie ever.” It does have enough going for it to keep us film school grads a lot to talk about. Coogler has made some great, and popular movies. Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, BP:Wakanda Forever, and now Sinners. I am definitely looking forward to the next films from Coogler and Jordan Peele.

Sinners is an R-rated horror film. Saving Private Ryan, and Goodfellas are two excellent films, but not horror. You’re comparing apples and oranges. Saving Private Ryan and Goodfellas are 71 & 92 respectively on the American Film Institute greatest 100 movies of all time. Citizen Kane, The Godfather, Casablanca, Raging Bull are 1,2,3,4 on the AFI list, and within the top 5 on every other important list of movie rankings.

This is why we can’t have nice things… More than half of the posters clearly didn’t understand the question, and the other half didn’t bother to look at any of the comments on the thread. Americans, remember you learned how to do this in elementary school…

Let’s start by comparing apples to apples, and expressing both operands as fractions. In We can convert 500 into the fraction 500/1, since any whole number can be written as that number divided by 1.

Now we are dividing two fractions, rather than a fraction and a whole number Remember the rule for dividing fractions is to invert and multiply:

500/1 X 2/1 =1,000/ 1 or simply 1,000z

Finally, add the 50 and the total is 1,050.
