This, in the end, will be what does for Badenoch. Her unique brand of mean-spirited, abrasive condescension will fully turn off the British people long before her obsessive hard-right culture-war agenda does
Earlier this morning Janey passed away in her sleep. Her family were with her.
The love and support from all her friends and fans during this cancer journey brought her enormous joy. It has also been a huge comfort to us, her family and close friends, thank you.

It can’t just be me thinking this. It just makes no sense to me that we are looking to make tax rises & spending cuts to the value of £40bn in this month’s Budget whilst refusing to talk about the economic damage we’ve self inflicted on the economy with Brexit. Bloomberg has calculated that Brexit is costing the UK £100bn a year in lost output— that’s roughly £40bn less for the new Labour Government to invest in the UK - every year
Why are we not talking about this?
How much longer can our politicians deliberately avoid the negative impact of Brexit in their list of things which have battered and continue to batter the UK economy? The Office for Budget Responsibility says Brexit will reduce the UK’s potential GDP by 4% in the long run by lowering the trade intensity of the economy, Goldman Sachs puts it at 5% and the National Institute of Economic & Social Research calculates it at up to 6%.
These analysis’s chime with that of the Bank of England by showing that a long-term squeeze on the country’s economic potential from Brexit is playing out as they had feared
Until we have an honest and open discussion about the negative impact of Brexit and take steps remedy it Britain’s growth, productivity and living standards will continue to be weighed down by the structural handicap of Brexit
So why are we not talking about this?

The #1 focus on mpox should be on getting vaccines, antivirals & support to DRC (where 96% of cases have been) & neighbouring countries. If a fire is raging next door, help them put it out. Not just because it’s the right thing to do, but could be your house on fire next.
