In these sentences is the denial of concrete claim with a clear meaning, the "contrast" is an abstraction that can mean whatever you want it to mean. Which is dangerous when it comes to disclosure of erotic transference. Barsness is not "playing his cards face up", if you will.

@LaMarchinaMC I’m writing a memoir at 27. I don’t have any plans to publish it. Memory fades and I want to write some of these experiences while I’m closer in time. It will be interesting to look back in 40 years and see how the narrative shifts.
