@Tony_Royle this is like cutting the weight of a chocolate bar is being dressed up as tackling obesity, this isn't about net zero this is about profits. Hens that lay white eggs are more efficient, making the eggs cheaper to produce.
i'm not infuriated, and think its good for the country and especially the local area for jobs (many which will likely go to young people once open).
If you read my post, its about how when a big company comes along and wants this they gets this injection (indirectly via the infrastructure) yet if its a house builder which may provide much needed homes they often need to invest their own money on infrastructure to get it passed (via section 106 agreements and community infrastructure level).
@anon_opin Wonder what this weeks tube strikes have done for demand? Know many who have either driven directly to work or to stations (ie those on the overground unaffected) to get to work
@chatswithem Not sure why they call it net zero; it just makes business sense: more productive hens (laying more eggs for longer), less feed, and nutritionally identical in taste (apparently). So why wouldnโt they, when consumers are crying out about food inflation?
@StevePenk@netflix Can't tell you how many times I've watched a really shitty movie and asked myself why. Sometimes I didn't even understand what it was about; I might as well have watched a film in Japanese without subtitles.
@DavidMcNab17 It will likely have other knock on effects in years to come, eg more people will qualify for state funded care homes (costing thousands a month)
@Nesil_Caliskan@DeborahMeaden@UKLabour Donโt London primaries also have free lunches too, so free breakfast and lunch, when will they start free evening meals and make it full board?
@stuey_beef Labour also massively publicises how the mainline is going into public ownership under Great British Railways, while at the same time the running of the Elizabeth Line is outsourced to a consortium of companies including a Japanese metro.
@Daniel_Sugarman Probably get the same contractors as HS2 to build the new station, and the the park will be opened before the roads are ready so people have to drive down country lanes to get to it
@ArturNadol7566 And will likely green-light a takeover of ITV too (via their ownership of Sky) and let them reduce their public service commitment, saving hundreds of millions a year.
@FinestDoveTruth Yes, often the hardest part for many buyers (especially 1st time) is the initial upfront costs, such as the deposit and legal fees. If the builder can help ease some of those, even if monthly payments are slightly higher, it can make the new build tempting.
