@endowment_eddie We’ve done this. Always legal hoops to jump through, but it really comes down to the departing partner’s relationship with the firm, in my view. Fighting to enforce a contract in this context is a pain given the flexibility GPs have to run around.

If done well, it can help define the realistic range of expected outcomes and build trust.
@joelmcohen We seed 1-2 managers a year and couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s absolutely doable at small scale ($5-10mm).
Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. For some it’s the right long term game to align with personal goals.
