my 3rd play through was a different experience as now i see it through the lens of a critique. i usually skim through the finer details of games, but this time, being critical and scrutinizing the finer aspects made me gain a new appreciation for the game

i see Ellie accepting Joel's lie (whether she guessed it or not) as a nod towards her maturity and understanding of Joel's love and concern for her

surprising to see Joel lie to Ellie about the fireflies about there being other immune people to research on. this shows that Joel knows that she would sacrifice herself for the greater good

this sequence solidifies Joel's ruthlessness and will to get Ellie back, no matter the cost. really shows how much he thinks of her as his family @PlayingUs #PlayingWithTheEnd19
