I had an extremely public rape case before the Me Too movement. I can confidently say that Americans have never hated rapists, and in fact, hate the women who have been victimized more than you can ever imagine.
On both a macro & interpersonal level, I am so beyond tired of experiencing that specific emotion where I expected that other people would disappoint me but hoped that I was wrong, and now must process the emotional fallout of my social pessimism once again being proved correct.
