Anyone who tries to make the future like the past, will fail, and if they hold on too tightly to the past they may even need to have their life removed from their body to protect the future from their delusions.
Goals are more useful for setting a direction than the actual achievement. Set them, work toward them, and give yourself the freedom to discard or change them when necessary.
SEEK OUT PEOPLE, BOOKS OR IDEAS THAT CONTRADICT YOUR CURRENT BELIEFS
One of two things will happen:
a) you will discover that you are wrong
b) or you will improve the arguments for your own ideas
@markmanson True that. It’s easier said than done when we’re taught to see and love people for their identities and beliefs rather... which is only compounded in difficulty since we’re also conditioned to see and live ourselves as identities and beliefs.
