ANALYSIS ⚽️
Barcelona didn’t just win in Valencia.
They flattened them.
Valencia 0-5 F.C Barcelona
Sole leaders. And it could’ve been worse.
Thread on what actually happened... don't miss it!🧵
La Liga vs the rest of Europe (2015–2026 UEFA titles)
Champions League + Europa League + Conference League + Super Cup:
🇪🇸 Spain — 18 titles (5 clubs)
🏴 England — 13 titles (8 clubs)
🇫🇷 France — 4
🇩🇪 Germany — 3
🇮🇹 Italy — 2
🇬🇷 Greece — 1
Main cups only (no Super Cup):
Spain 12 · England 10 · everyone else 2 or fewer
Champions League isn’t just better teams but It’s a different game.
You get the best side from every league, not just Spain.
Defences sit tighter, full-backs are quicker, midfields press in packs, and one mistake ends the tie.
Domestic games still leave 1v1s and transition space. Knockout CL usually doesn’t.
That’s why the same player can look unstoppable on a Sunday and merely very good on a Wednesday.
The pitch shrinks.

Fermín López
He decided the first half on his own.
The filtered pass for Lamine’s chip in the 6th minute, then the 0-2 around the 22nd after Gordon held it up and laid it off.
From there it was the same pattern all night: runs beyond the line, constant availability, and arrival in the box.
Yellow on 65, off around 75 for Olmo with the game already gone.
Goal, assist, and the extra man in attack.
Pedri and Rodri.
Class combination.
This was the midfield pairing Flick wanted to try before Champions League: Rodri’s first league start next to Pedri, with Fermín pushed on.
Rodri sat and recycled, Pedri moved between the lines, and together they made Valencia’s middle look empty.
Rodri took a yellow on 47 and came off around 63 for Bernal.
Pedri stayed longer and finished the night with the 0-4 around the 78th, a low finish after the combination in the box once Olmo was on.
No fireworks from Rodri, a goal from Pedri, and the same result from both: the game never got away from Barça in the middle.
@yipikayei7 Tener a Rodri a tiro de piedra y que se vaya al barsa fue la película del verano.
En este caso de horror para el madrid.
Necesitaban a alguien que haga jugar al equipo.
Ojalá le gane al Inter.
Valencia didn’t compete.
Crisis in the stands, protests, a defence that collapsed.
Barça sit top on their own with a perfect record and an attack that’s starting to scare people.
The question isn’t whether they win. It’s how far this goes.

Tactical note: Rodri started for the first time. With Pedri and Fermín in midfield, Barça controlled and pushed.
Gordon again decisive with the assist. Flick rotated with Champions League in mind and the team still looked a level above.
