One of the best aspects of Breaking Bad was the relationship between Walter White and his son.

Walter Jr. loves his father, but he doesn’t respect him.

He viewed him as the boring high school chemistry teacher who has to work part time at a car wash to pay the bills.

Then the other hand was his Uncle Hank, the awesome DEA agent who shoots guns and arrests drug dealers. Walter Jr. loved to listen to his stories and viewed Hank as much more of a mentor than he did his own father.

That is a big part of what sets the story in motion. Walter White didn’t become a meth cook just for the money, he did it so he could retake control of his life.

That is what the scene with him, Walter Jr., and Hank with the alcohol is about: he was taking his relationship with his son back from Hank.

There’s no such thing as the perfect TV show, but Breaking Bad is as close as you’ll get.
