Oscar Frye, a sophomore quarterback from Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana, is making waves in the football world. As a member of the class of 2027, this 6’2”, 185-pound right-hander has already shown he’s a force on the field. Wearing #18, Frye led his varsity team to an impressive 13-1 record in the 2024 season, earning accolades like Adidas All-American QB, 6A State Champion, 6A 1st-Team Junior All-State QB (as a sophomore), and 1st-Team All-HCC Conference.
In 2024, Frye’s passing stats spoke for themselves: 242 attempts, 156 completions, 2,445 yards, a 65% completion rate, and 23 touchdowns. His average of 15.7 yards per pass and 175 yards per game, paired with a quarterback rating of 117.5, showed his command of the offense. He had a long pass of 71 yards, though he threw 7 interceptions and may have lost one fumble. On the ground, Frye added 58 carries for 122 yards, averaging 2 yards per carry and 8 yards per game. Combined, he racked up 2,567 total yards, a testament to his dual-threat ability.
Off the field, Frye excels academically with a 4.4 GPA. His course load includes AP World History, AP Chemistry, and Pre-AP English 10 Honors as a sophomore, along with past AP classes like Computer Science (scored a 4), Statistics (scored a 5), and Biology (scored a 5). He’s also aced honors classes like Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry and English 9. Beyond football, Frye enjoys golf, showing his well-rounded nature.

it’s clear why Frye is turning heads. His field vision is sharp, and his decision-making is quick, whether he’s in the pocket or on the move. He delivers accurate passes—short or long—with power and precision, showcasing a strong arm and an understanding of his receivers’ abilities. Don’t let his modest rushing stats fool you; Frye is fast and agile, capable of taking off when needed. His ability to read defenses and adapt to schemes is advanced for his age, and his confidence shines through in every play.
Frye’s offensive line and receivers deserve credit, too, as they create opportunities for his success. The Brownsburg coaching staff has done an excellent job preparing him, and it shows in his grasp of routes, play calls, and defensive adjustments. His leadership is evident in the team’s 13-1 record, and at just 16, he’s already drawing interest from college programs. With two more high school seasons ahead, Frye has the potential to become one of the top quarterbacks in the country by his senior year.
Physically, Frye is a standout at 6’2” with room to grow.
His throwing mechanics are polished, and his coordination—hands, feet, and mind—is impressive. He’s a natural leader who stays composed under pressure, making catchable throws with determination. Whether he’s firing a deep ball or a quick checkdown, his timing and accuracy are spot-on. Add to that his ability to change direction without losing momentum, and you have a quarterback who’s tough to defend.
Frye’s work ethic, both on the field and in the classroom, sets him apart. If he continues to hone his skills and maintain his academic excellence, he’s likely to play at the FBS level, possibly even among the elite. College coaches should take notice now—Oscar Frye is a name to remember. Keep your eyes on #18 the next two seasons; he’s poised for greatness.
