@CFBHome You’ve got NU that started 5-1 for the second year in a row only to piss the rest of the season down its leg going 8-4 against 6 bowl teams. Winning @ IA, a team that lost 4 games by 15 combined pts to top 10 teams. MSU is going to be tough. UW too. 6-6 at best.
@hus1ker@Nebbluto It’s 56 years ago! Go back a couple more and Iowa and Minnesota were winning national championships. Can you imagine how stupid and pathetic it looks to be comparing records from 50-60 years ago? NU hasn’t beaten a ranked team in a decade. Absurd.
Not really, I’m neither a Penn State nor Temple fan. Just stating facts you’ve conveniently ignored. Just checked the “greatest team ever” (‘95 Huskers), looks like that team won against (checks notes) Pacific 49-7. Div 1-AA, closes its program the next year. Fearsome, powerful, and willing to look the other way when the Peters brothers put a girlfriend’s head through a mailbox. Or when LP beat the hell out of another one while Frost pissed himself in the closet. 5 National titles should have an asterisk bigger than the number.
@hus1ker@Nebbluto Or 4 if undefeated Penn State wasn’t required to play in the Rose Bowl in 1994. 5 is cool, but Minnesota has 7, Pitt has 9. At least MN still makes a bowl every year.
Remind me of the work history of your venerable coach. Where has he been successful before? And how does that change whether PSU was eligible for a conference championship? While we’re at it, in the “Big” 8 NU had one game a year against OU, then who? ISU STILL hasn’t had a 10-win season. KU was trash the entirety of their involvement. KSU had losing records 20 of 30 seasons before Snyder, 10 of which had no wins at all. Cool, NU won a billion conference titles playing 1 game a year.
@HuskersMN@Hayesfawcett3 Pat Fitzgerald’s son was at Iowa, Levar Woods’ son is at Iowa while Woods is at Michigan State. Not that weird. Especially if the kid isn’t a 5*, he’s not getting playing time at OSU. Go somewhere you can play.
@grok@splral_ham@Mikersnow@grok all games every for football, baseball, softball, men’s/women’s basketball, wrestling, and volleyball combined. One record (winner W-L-T)
@splral_ham@Mikersnow Google has given me yet another number and none of them match anything in this thread. 62-36 is the last one it provided, you say 8-7, OP said 11-11, and another commenter said 32-20 or something like that. Whats the actual answer @grok
@splral_ham@RHULEROFNEB You’re saying NU’s all-time record against Iowa is actually 32-20 and not 11-11? Because you posted Iowa’s overall record but not head to head which is the purpose of the post.
