@aripap @therevoltingx I agree with this, if I'm understanding correctly- creating *more* tech to solve uniquely technology problems is the standard M.O. of many web/media operators right now and hasn't worked, nor will it necessarily be a way to a silver bullet in future.
@aripap Narrator: "As it turns out, Dad was not OK. He was driven mad by the 4x3 ratio, stretched frames, and non-HD encoding. He did the only thing he thought reasonable at the moment- he started a new ad tech company. A choice that would haunt him for years to come.." [end prologue]
@jarroddicker if crypto becomes the de facto monetization facilitator model where an outbrain on steroids is the standard, our industry is doomed. theres a lot of good here, though, and could compete with the attribution issues that FANG donโt have
@DaveAPond Love this! Buzzfeed have the scale and data, but also the track record. Wish the fanfare would focus more on how Publishers have been solving this problem for the past few years, and delivering better performance whilst doing it.

This what we've been building towards and it's baffling that Google's press is creating fanfare when we all knew it was coming. It's in our DNA and nothing net new. Ultimately, performance will be what 1P data is judged by, but that's where we'll win.
Exciting news: @BuzzFeed is adding @HuffPost into the fold, in a strategic partnership with @VerizonMedia to create the largest digital media network, with four of the best known brands (hi @BuzzFeed, @BuzzFeedNews, @HuffPost and @Tasty) https://t.co/uJeuqiCHrT
Breaking: BuzzFeed is acquiring Verizon Mediaโs HuffPost, the companies said, uniting two of the larger digital media players in a sector looking to jumpstart growth https://t.co/dUNNz8438d
Add that content with the reach of our partnerships with influencers, Occupy Democrats, Buzzfeed, Conde Nast and many more and we were ready to rock and roll. By October, we were outperforming Trump on engagement.
We'd beaten him at his own game.

WHAT HAPPENS IN ADTECH Unlock some "magic" w. us! + Dave Pond (Buzzfeed) "r we rec. yet?" fantastic convo on data+pubs, tired of voices, WATCH HERE Ryan McConaghy https://t.co/1GwLfBKzoK
@jaymfriedman fb is building moats to get more credit for last click/short attribution windows. smart move but going to make CMOs jobs harder to justify other platform buys, even though they historically work.
