Cool. We can see Iranian tankers heading to the US to offload oil.
And with the Jones Act waiver still in place, they can pick up some US oil and move it around the country.
Let's go to the reaction by those at CATO...
She’s right. There is no reason to continue this waiver, which didn’t lower gas prices but did stymie investment and reduce opportunity for U.S. workers in maritime.
National security analyst @rebeccagrantdc appeared on @FoxNews with a clear message: “It’s time for him to cancel the Jones Act waiver.”
President Trump must prioritize American maritime workers and U.S. shipyards — not foreign carriers, foreign workers, and foreign economies.
China pulls the strings. American workers pay the price. Relying on foreign vessels undermines our domestic fleet and leaves U.S. mariners sidelined. It’s time to support American jobs and secure our waters. #EndTheWaiver
The @seattletimes Editorial Board came out definitively against the ongoing Jones Act waiver, calling for President Trump to end it "immediately."📰🇺🇸

“The version that they gave last week obscured the fact that there is an entire top half to this message that we are not seeing,” Monroe said. “And they haven’t provided us any specific statutory reason why that stuff is being held back.”
Producing more American energy is only half the equation. Moving it matters too.
The Jones Act helps ensure that jobs created by domestic energy production support American mariners, American shipyards and American communities — not foreign vessels & crews operating in the US.
The current Jones Act waiver moves our nation in the wrong direction, adding risk without an economic upside. Crowley’s Clay Heil testified before the U.S. Senate on why opposing the waiver remains critical to our nation's resilience and security. Watch: https://t.co/rDOv1YoOzm
"Extremely Damaging to Every Part of the US Maritime Industry."
@CrowleyMaritime’s Clayton Heil testified before @SenateCommerce & @commercedems on the risks of extending the Jones Act waiver.
The waiver is actively undermining domestic maritime companies and the future of @UsmmaO.
A @DeptofWar designated "Chinese Military Company" just used the 501a "national security" Jones Act waiver to deliver asphalt to New Haven, CT.
@DOWResponse can you explain how this advances immediate defense needs?
Picture submitted by a Jones Act mariner.
Whoever advised President Trump that a broad Jones Act waiver would lower gas prices is making him look "stupid" on national TV.
@MSNOW's Lawrence O'Donnell slams the Administration for the unprecedented 150-day Jones Act waiver. ⬇️
We are the Jones Act.
We are the men and women who stand watch deep at sea, carrying America’s commerce through storm, war, and crisis.
We are the U.S.-flag merchant fleet. We are security. We are readiness. We are the Fourth Arm of Defense.
Mr. President, IS THIS A JOKE? If 'AMERICA FIRST means BUY AMERICAN,' then listen to your instincts, not your staff. Lift the Jones Act waiver and put Americans back to work. 🇺🇲
As Europe sits out reopening the Strait of Hormuz, its shipping companies have benefited from the Jones Act waiver.
European-flagged, Chinese-built vessels crewed by dozens of foreign nationals ply US waters. While Americans have been killed & over 400 have been injured abroad.
This what that waiver is providing Americans.
MV Bulldog shipped 300k barrels of gas from New Orleans to Port Everglades. Was their a shortage of gas in South Florida above the normal consumption rate due to Hormuz?
Also, she loaded that cargo on March 12 and the waiver did not go into effect until March 17.
At that time she was sitting off Vera Cruz, Mexico with this load.
What appears to have happened is that they saw an opportunity to make some quick money off the US.
As she sailed to Port Everglades and sat off the port for a week and then offloaded.
Then sailed to New Jersey, loaded 300k bbls of gasoline and pulled it out of the US and delivered it to France.
So, she could have just taken that load of gas she had off Vera Cruz and gone right to France but instead saw the opportunity to double pump and dump a load in Florida and then pull a load of New Jersey.
So, this is definitely a succes for Valero Refining and the owner of the ships - Grace Ocean, Singapore.
Florida has 300k barrels of gas but New Jersey does not when the mid-Atlantic has higher gas prices than the Lower Atlantic.
In 2024, China built 1,400 ships. We built five. American’s maritime industry has been neglected for too long, and reviving it will strengthen our country and create great-paying jobs.
