@keepingflight@Heather_Poole@thehashtribe@LiveandLetsFly@airlinevideos "Used to" - what decade are we talking about?
Every recent evac video in modern times (Japan excepted) shows some pax grabbing bags (and more than just what's at their feet). And folks scream into the wind about it.
@Truth_n_facts1@JonEMTP@Heather_Poole@thehashtribe@LiveandLetsFly@airlinevideos Again - a common idea which would have the opposite effect and actually slow evac down as pax waste time trying to force bins open.
Truth is that for reasons of human behavior - current standards and expectations do not match what happens in real life.
@JonEMTP@Heather_Poole@thehashtribe@LiveandLetsFly@airlinevideos Yes - they ignore crew instructions - as per every video of evac.
As per above - we canโt just have wishful thinking. Modeling and standards should be revisited to take into account that some folks will continue acting the same. That may mean changes to LOPA standards.
@Heather_Poole Sounds wonderful.
Hope you donโt run out of Tylenol from banging your head against the brick wall year after year (evac video after evac video).
My smart money is on the brick wall.
@Heather_Poole Iโm well aware of all the above.
But expecting full compliance clearly is a fools errand. So itโs time to revisit evac protocols; exit capacity; etc.
Rather than just complaining everytime an evac occurs.
Both things can be true at once.
@Heather_Poole@thehashtribe@LiveandLetsFly@airlinevideos Contrarian takeโฆ
Instead of spending years shouting into the windโฆ. A more productive angle would be to acknowledge human psychology and behavior; and push for standards and training to accept that (despite directions), folks will instinctively grab bags.
@realEstateTrent@therealpablo27@MichaelIrvin Yes - bring a large carry-on, you will indeed have more legroom. But youโll also have a gate-checked bag because someone else took the overhead space with their backpack.
Facts - most pax care more about NOT having to gate check, than to extend legroom space.
@WandrMe AA announces a 15 minute rolling delay at the gate while the inbound hasnโt event shown up?
I mean I agree with youโฆ but it happens at every AA port multiple times a day ๐๐
2 out of 2 @AmericanAir flights today delayed for โmaintenanceโโฆ
WhatโฆAโฆSurprise
For those keeping track - that means 100% of my AA flights this year have had maintenance delays. (As did 100% of my 2022 AA flights).
At least they are consistently โon-brandโ ๐๐
