Some Tories have voiced support 4 Trump: @Jacob_Rees_Mogg told me last wk he favoured Trump over Biden as Trump “friend of UK” “I'm interested in how foreign politicians relate to my country” (rather than their domestic politics) Wonder how NATO allies remarks may affect support?
This really pisses me off; 1st Ofgem allow energy companies to fraudulently increase bills to unaffordable levels so they can make the biggest profits they've EVER made and when people can't afford to pay, Ofgem allow them to increase bills even more.

RWANDA MATHS
Tory govt set up costs = £290m
⬇️
Cost to send each person = £169,000
Add in £290m
TOTAL COST PER PERSON
100 people = £3,069,000 each
300 people = £1,129,000 each
1,000 people = £459,000 each
Or total cost of housing support in UK per person = £106,000
Sounds like a VIP Lane scandal all over again

If you're wondering why the other newspapers, including the Guardian and Mirror, won't cover these 100s of millions of £s of 'Covid Bungs' - easy answer. They were beneficiaries of it
🚨 BREAKING: Shell has reported £5.1 BILLION in profit for the last 3 months.
Ordinary people shouldn’t be paying to fix the climate crisis. Big Oil should.
If we had a public inquiry into Brexit, as well as Covid, we’d have many of the same characters, the same attitudes, and the same bullshit. A government built on hate, lies, narcissism, fear, bullying, innumeracy and tribalism is unlikely to deliver for its people. And it hasn’t.
Just madness. Trade deals like so disrespect & undercut British farmers, who are struggling enough already. It also opens us to meat with lower welfare standards, let alone consider the food miles...

@rosemeyer1939@OctopusEV It’s 6 year old Model X - very big heavy car on Teslas old tech. The same battery size in the current Model X is much more efficient and gets a lot more range.
At WIRED x Octopus Energy Tech Summit Octopus CEO @G__J says the total installed cost of their new Cosy heat pump could be £3k cheaper than their current offer, which means some people will be able to get a heat pump installed for free after gov grant. That is gamechanging.
I'm amazed at the vitriol from tech leaders complaining about having their (& company) time wasted having to discuss an OSS component. If it's in your software supply chain, you have to realise you own that dependency. If you derive value from it, you *need* to support it
A hydrogen boiler needs x6 more electricity than a heat pump to create the same amount of heat for the home
A boiler using green hydrogen needs 100kWh renewable electricity to produce 46kWh of heat
A heat pump turns 100kWh electricity into 270kWh of heat

In 2022 I had a hunch ChatGPT would cannibalize its information supply chains.
Once sites like StackOverflow die, it’s a matter of time until LLMs get worse.
The real value of sites like StackOverflow is long tail answers you can’t find anywhere. Stuff maybe one other person has ever seen.
Without people answering those, LLMs have nothing to recombine.
This woman wanted to leaving the largest trading bloc on earth (one which is on our doorstep) because UK workmen adhered to health & safety rules and the French & German’s didn’t
Just let that sink in

The 🧵below is very important. It's not about the images you see, but the warning below it of the world that's soon the one you and I will be living in. And as a programmer, I'm ashamed we as a group have let it come this far.
