🚨 ICAN's legal team just obtained documents revealing the National Science Foundation awarded nearly $400,000 to Cornell and Indiana University scientists to pursue what the researchers themselves called the "holy grail" of geoengineering research.

Your tax dollars. Funding this.

Through FOIA requests, ICAN uncovered that these scientists were working to determine exactly what stratospheric aerosol injection (the deliberate injection of aerosols into the atmosphere for the purpose of achieving "global cooling") can and cannot do.

They devised what they called plug-and-play "injection choices" depending on climate goals and focused their strategy on the Arctic, specifically because they believed it could be done using aircraft that already exist today. No new technology required.

These researchers believe geoengineering could be "the only pathway to limit some climate change impacts" and intended their work to inform decisions about if, when, where, and how geoengineering might be carried out in the future.

ICAN has already sent a letter to the NSF demanding it cease all funding of geoengineering research given the threat such activities pose to the health and safety of the American people. ICAN's legal team is also pursuing additional documents the NSF is currently withholding related to a policy workshop these scientists proposed.

The public deserves to know what is being planned, funded, and potentially already carried out in our skies. ICAN is doing the legal work to find out.
