@MattPolProf The belief that we can simply "redistribute" wealth and create a utopia on Earth is a myth that never dies. Take all the wealth on Earth today, redistribute it into 8.3 billion shares tomorrow, and then what? Wealth does not create itself.
@BulwarkOnline "Fairly and consistently" would disallow race or ethnicity or sex from playing any role whatsoever. That is Hegseth's point, which you inelegantly elide.
For many of us normally dovish types, Ed, the justification for the Iran conflict is cumulative: (a) they had/have nuclear ambitions, (b) they are the largest sponsor of terrorism around the globe each and every year, and (c) their leaders have preached "Death to America" for nearly a half century.
I'm not big on preemptive military strikes, but this one is 100% defensible, whether or not Team Trump is able to coherently articulate the justification.
@conor64@wesyang Exactly right. On a related note, I would pay a hefty admissions fee to watch Kamala vs AOC in the World Word Salad finale for the 2026 season.
@conor64@megbasham@mermazingtracy Conor, there is a difference between an actual assassination attempt and a theoretical plan that gets foiled.
Come ON.
@conor64@SwipeWright Agreed, but it's more a vibe shift than a policy shift. And it's probably in response to a far left that is shrill, violent, and becoming mainstream.
