In addition to helping maintain p5, for my day job, I make a motion graphics video editor, Butter. I think the best way to do that is have every component be creative code, so we've been building an editor for developers to create components out of regular p5 sketches. A thread:

This topic is fun, interesting, and fundamental for graphics. It's also accessible with a background in undergrad math (or engineering). Guidance is offered!
Home for the holidays and with some time to write, I wanted to make a post about the @p5xjs 2.0 work from this past year ahead of the release next year, and what makes its community special https://t.co/gvbmmGvMQz
Like math and want to learn computer programming? Want to give the gift of learning?
I've developed "Programming for math learners," a short course for small groups. It's for educators too!
It covers all programming fundamentals through fun math problems and projects...
We're almost halfway to our goal! Processing 4.3.1, @p5xjs 2.0, and p5.js Editor 2.15 releases are upcoming! 100% of your donation will go into funding contributors' essential work, ensuring our tools remain relevant, reliable, and accessible 💜 https://t.co/eHg4aKXhYQ

@openprocessing@bluesky I sorta hope Threads doesn't win out because do we really need another Meta thing being huge? But also being able to follow Threads people from Mastodon without being fully on Threads does seem like a maybe healthy compromise
@openprocessing@bluesky Bluesky feels more like it's in the same niche as Twitter, for better or for worse haha. Hopefully it'll stay non-toxic like it is right now. I don't know enough about its take on algorithms/moderation/etc to know if it'll be effective at staying that way long term
