While Vance is prattling on, the Times (to its credit) is reporting that a fraud case against an Indian businessman was dropped after he offered to invest $10 billion here that he claims will create 15,000 jobs (which will surely turn out to be bullshit)
@theSportress Dan, I’ll be en route on a plane to Rockhampton (heading to Capras v Burleigh!) while the game is on. A win today would be one for the ages - a team held together with sock puppets and sparklepaste, triumphing on enemy soil.
Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.
@StanSportRugby Some quick tips on using this platform:
* State who’s playing
* Set up a hashtag for the game so people can retweet it
* State what time it’s on your network (and Nine, if that’s the case)
FYI @hughcavill: baffling that the broadcaster can’t get basics right.
@JosephPolitano I mailed a gift valued at $50 from Australia yesterday. It’s usually a drop-off at the post office but took 20 extra mins to complete forms. I was charged an extra 10% (on the gift value). The products aren’t even available in the US (Australian football merch).
The Sharks are the only professional sporting team in Australia that owns its home stadium outright (No Kayo Stadium getting two games in 2025 doesn’t count). There’s a reason no one else does it: it’s just not a good idea.
We’re going to look at the Sharks’ recent corporate and stadium history, compare public and private stadium models, and consider what options might realistically exist for the club moving forward.
