Would you rather fight 100 Microducks or 1 horse sized Microduck?

[Thomas Wolf @Thom_Wolf]

We have a huge news to share today!

Today we are unveiling the first truly accessible RL robot - welcome Microduck

A 25 cm tiny open-source biped with 15 actuators and packed with sensors (camera, speaker, LiDAR, NFC, bluetooth, wifi, etc) that you train yourself with reinforcement learning.

It's also playable out of the box with more than half a dozen fun and playful pre-trained policies to have it walk, sit, crouch, roller-skate, pick up objects with its articulated beak, and recover on its own.

And all for less than $400.

See all the details, play with the simulator and order it at: https://t.co/n1Btgs6vKw

I'm selling ad space on my MacBook

→ 10 sticker spots on the lid
→ live auction
→ 14 days

except I don't own it yet, the auction buys it

→ your logo travels with me and gets seen both online and IRL

@VicVijayakumar It’s a confusing market, and it really depends on your home, but most of the flagship models are a great choice nowadays. It’s something I’m working on as a side project just trying to create a central unbiased source of info at https://t.co/wHEVQK9S3V. I’m open to feedback.

@JosephInnace @__apf__ Have you seen @radicalendar ?

[Dave @daveyapp]

@__apf__ Some people don’t think of time as linear but instead visualise it as circular, for those, @mayaisxyz is building a calendar app that’s neither LTR or top to bottom with @radicalendar

If you’re looking for an alternative to Product Hunt then it’s worth keeping an eye on this one and following @dagorenouf

[Dago | Recovering perfectionist @dagorenouf]

I figured out how to fix Product Hunt and am launching a competitor. No hidden selection process. No potential conflict of interest with vc-owned startups. No bots.

The first LaunchDay will be this Friday at 8AM EST. Limited to 10 products. Only indie makers.

Time to disrupt these mofos 👊

Read on to understand how it works and submit your product.

Product hunt is a joke
They don't feature your product even with lots of genuine votes and comments, and won't tell you why.

So even if you build a great app and spend weeks preparing the launch, you might stay invisible and it will all have been for nothing.

And when they DO feature you, you can lose to someone who bought votes, or to a big twitter star with 1000s of followers who upvoted them.

But there is a way to make it fair to everyone:
- make every product submission cost a small price (removes spam)
- only count votes from people with verified twitter/x accounts (removes fake votes)
- give a handicap to people with lots of followers (makes it fair)

That way the rules of the game can be 100% transparent.

The best product + launch campaign wins (especially since the new twitter/x algo can make you viral without many followers).

Product hunt will never do this because it will destroy their vanity metrics (that are falling fast anyway). But I don’t have investors breathing down my neck so I don’t care.

This is how the first ☕ LaunchDay will work:
- costs $29 to submit your product
- every product is shown on the homepage for 24h (and in the archives forever with SEO backlink)
- 10 products only per LaunchDay
- your rank depends on votes and nothing else
- only people with a verified twitter/x account can vote
- makers with more followers get a score decrease (1% decrease per 500 followers: 100k followers account with 200 votes counts as 50 real votes)

No hidden rules.
No unfair advantage given to anyone.
No conflict of interest.

Good product + good launch strategy → you get visibility.

The catch
Don't get me wrong it still won't be easy to win! Building a good product and making a good launch plan is hard work.

And it won't be free anymore ($29)...

But it will finally be FAIR. And the rules are now 100% clear.

Submit your product now
If you want to (re)launch your product and have a chance to finally win the game, grab your spot now.

The first launch day starts this Friday at 8AM EST for the first 10 products.

If I get more than 10 signups, I will plan more LaunchDays so everyone can compete and get visibility.

I’ll boost it massively to my 98K followers + everyone gets a SEO backlink.

Will build in public using cursor + Ruby on Rails. I listen to all feedback.

@digiminimalist Notion? I would say minimalist apps should do one job really well. Here’s my interpretation of a minimalist calendar https://t.co/wCt5EXBmv6 for example.

[Dave @daveyapp]

@levelsio I didn’t know you had a book, I look forward to giving it a read. It maybe just me but Cloudflare is being a bit overzealous with the anti bot checks on your site. I get this consistently.

Last night’s concert was her 8th appearance at Wembley in a single tour, making her the first solo artist ever to do so.

She also equaled the record for the most nights at Wembley on a single tour, set by Take That on their Progress Tour in 2011 #TSTheErasTour

I've given Calli a new look with cleaner lines to fit in dates on the calendar. What do you all think? #buildinginpublic #indiedev

@infosec_james Ride on Time by Black Box has the perfect intro for a last chance alarm

[Thomas Frank @TomFrankly]

"It's just an API wrapper, I could build that in a weekend."

That's exactly correct.

And yet you didn't build it.

Another guy did, and that's why he's making $45k/mo.

[Dave @daveyapp]

@medartus Cool, I’ll check it out
