@SharkHomeUK hi there. Just bought an RV3000. Really like it. But why are you selling it with the claim it works with Google home when in fact in the UK it does not?
@AskNationwide I have done so, but have also learned from bitter experience that you tend to just do what you want to do, claim you're basing the changes on "feedback" (an easy assertion to make, and it could simply be fabricated), and ignore genuine negative feedback from members.
@AskNationwide hi folks. Why have you ruined your online banking!? When organisations say that they're responding to feedback, are you really?
You've given it the same dreadful look you gave you your app. I shouldn't need to scroll to see anything! It's absurd.
@davidyelland potential topic for your podcast: The PR/comms handling of when app updates are poorly received by public (see @metoffice weather app).
Should organisations double down, or do the ever admit that they were wrong, and "roll back" when app ratings plummet overnight?

#metoffice@metoffice met office weather app update
@metoffice I see your new weather app rating has gone from 4.8 to 3.7 to 3.6 and now down to 3.5... in a week.
A good plan at this stage might be to return it to something akin to the way it was.
@Met4CastUK It's gone from the best weather app to the worst, overnight. I can't believe how personally affronted I feel about it. And the only skin I have in the game is as a user/taxpayer. They're not *really* listening. If they were, they'd have rolled back. Seems to be what folk want.
@Met4CastUK My 74 year old mother-in-law, spontaneously and completely unprompted told me the other morning that something had happened to the format of the Met Office app and that she hates it. She's completely non-technical and a passive user of apps generally. I couldn't disagree.
@metoffice Iโm really sorry to say this but Iโm only being honest and objective. I love you and have worked with you via my films on TV.
Your new app is rather awful! ๐๐ข Thatโs not based on dogma or habit on my part. Itโs HONESTLY NOT INTUITIVE and unnecessarily overly complicated for both casual users as well as those like myself who like to dig a bit more.
Is there any way I can resort to your old version of the app until you get things polished off at all? ๐ค๐
@metoffice If you could make it look like this, that would be great thanks. Screenshot attached from a really good weather app that used to be available.
@stevewebbI@metoffice It's so bad. I'm gutted about the whole thing. This is so typical of when the public sector attempts something like this. They don't prioritise users, they prioritise what they've decided to do.
@Met4CastUK What's the nature of their decision to change to this crap layout? They are alienating loyal users for no reason. New users will be unlikely to adopt this app based on how it looks, as there are other apps which look like this already. I'm absolutely gutted at what they've done.
