The EU, which had already disgraced itself by entering the Association agreement with Apartheid Israel years ago, is now refusing to suspend it.

This is the final piece of evidence that the EU is consciously supporting Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians. This risks to be the end of EU values.

EU member states: I hope you will activate the CJEU. But meanwhile, please remember that regional agreements do not obliterate your obligations under intl law. Cut ties with Israel, starting with trade including of weapons. Do the right thing. Our European history commands it.

Dall’inizio del cessate il fuoco a Gaza il 10 ottobre scorso, Israele ha ucciso 2 bambini ogni giorno.
A riferirlo è l’UNICEF, il Fondo delle Nazioni Unite per l’infanzia, che denuncia che almeno 67 bambini sono stati uccisi in “incidenti legati al conflitto” da quando è stata annunciata la tregua tra Hamas e Israele.
Il cessate il fuoco, entrato in vigore il mese scorso con mediazione statunitense, avrebbe dovuto rappresentare una pausa nei combattimenti. Ma a Gaza, secondo i dati diffusi dall’UNICEF, la violenza non si è mai fermata, nemmeno verso i bambini.
Tra le vittime, una neonata di pochi giorni morta a seguito di un attacco aereo israeliano su Khan Younis.
“Questi non sono numeri: erano bambini, ognuno con una vita e dei sogni”, ha dichiarato il portavoce UNICEF Ricardo Pires durante una conferenza stampa a Ginevra.
Le sue parole confermano una realtà già denunciata da organizzazioni umanitarie e mediche presenti sul campo: l’infanzia a Gaza è il bersaglio più esposto e indifeso.
Da ottobre 2023, secondo stime di numerose organizzazioni umanitarie, oltre 64.000 bambini sono stati uccisi o feriti a Gaza.
Molti hanno riportato amputazioni, disabilità, ustioni gravi e lesioni fisiche e cerebrali permanenti. Save the Children ha definito Gaza “il luogo con la più alta concentrazione di bambini amputati nella storia moderna”.
Alla violenza delle bombe si aggiunge la crisi umanitaria. Con l’ingresso centellinato di aiuti e beni primari, la popolazione continua a vivere in condizioni estreme. Oltre 150 bambini sono morti per malnutrizione o per l’impossibilità di accedere alle cure.
“La realtà è semplice e brutale: a Gaza non esiste un luogo sicuro per un bambino”, ha affermato Pires, chiedendo accesso immediato agli aiuti e protezione per i civili.
Da ottobre Israele ha violato la tregua oltre 400 volte uccidendo oltre 300 persone di cui 67 sono bambini.

A Gaza il “cessate il fuoco” non è mai iniziato.

Nel PD sulla questione mediorientale c'è stato forse un cambio di passo non facilmente reversibile. Paolo Romano, consigliere regionale Pd in Lombardia:
