In moments like these, grace speaks louder than grievance. Death should never become a moment for settling political scores. Whatever disagreements existed, this was a time for dignity, compassion, and respect for a life lost.Ubuntu teaches us that humanity must come before politics.
@jliemandt Hi @jliemandt Just a quick heads-up, l dropped you a DM expanding on this thread. No rush at all, but would love to connect when you have the bandwidth
@matigary This system is now endemic. I am not sure when it started, but the sheer number of people who make a living solely from being the middleman is staggering. As an example, I have seen one car listed with 7 different prices. It’s exhausting!
@antho_builds I think the foundations are important. You have done great work already. But it is like building a skyscraper on a shaky foundation. Train it on the foundations the rest will follow
@matigary Execution matters. Too much talk indeed!
But building in Silicon Valley and building in Harare are not the same sport.
In our markets, the builder carries the risk, the politician cuts the ribbon & the middleman takes the margin. We need to fix the incentive structure.
@antho_builds That difficulty is the best feature. If it were easy, you'd be fighting off a thousand clones. Friction is a good filter. Is it live yet?
@jliemandt Different incentives produce very different anxieties.
Sounds like a place where curiosity outruns compliance. Good problem to have. Good work!
@jliemandt That’s the right approach. The nuance in those markets matters, and taking the time to understand the constraints vs. the needs is crucial. Exciting to know it’s firmly on the roadmap. Thank you.
@david_chak I spent last week in Ghana and Kenya talking to students to understand the market, their needs, price points, etc. We will get there, but not in 2026.
@marcrandolph This reflects a level of empathy many organisations lack. Too often PIPs aren’t about improvement at all, but about risk management and documentation. When the end is predetermined, the humane thing is to be honest and move quickly.
@ben_m_somers@ben_m_somers . This really resonated, especially the idea that geography shouldn’t determine the ceiling of a child’s education. As a parent in Zimbabwe, this is something I think about daily for my 5-year-old. Watching closely!
