parasites in our vegetables, data centers poisoning the water, flock cameras being built on every block, ICE agents killing people left and right… fuck donald trump and anyone who voted for him
Hi. Me again.
Today is 201 days since the deadline to release the Epstein files.
Laws are supposed to mean something.
Why are survivors and the public still waiting on millions of files?
Transparency delayed is not accountability.
Stop using the word “investing” for building on our land, being supported by taxpayers, stealing our water and utilizes, with almost no jobs or revenues we can tax
Shouldn't something as controversial as a data centre, be added to this fall's referendum - with the opportunity for Albertans to have a say whether they're alright with this?
This is a terrible idea.
The facility will require 1 gigawatt of electricity.
The entire City of Edmonton uses 1.4 gigawatts of electricity.
300 jobs will require almost as much electricity as 1.2 MILLION people.
No one wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants a robot butler. Nobody wants data centers everywhere. Nobody wants flying cars or humanoid robots. We want clean water, we want the bees to survive, and we want a habitable planet.
Is it just me or do you ever really get overwhelmed by how our current reality is a genuine dystopian nightmare YET everyone still acts like it is completely normal??
Originally, Smith said Alberta’s data centres would have to generate their own electricity off grid. Now it’s also open to grid-connected.
That’s not working out well anywhere else.

Let’s be clear: Meta chose Alberta because the UCP ditched the requirement for impact assessments. They got approval without having to address concerns about the project’s impact on our water usage or power prices. Smith serves the billionaire class, not Albertans.
@ABDanielleSmith@Meta They chose Alberta because they know you'll let them pollute our water with no repercussions. Are a couple hundred jobs really worth contaminating the capital city's water supply?
Your job is to serve Albertans. Not foreign billionaires.
The American tech company Meta is building an AI data centre in Alberta that will be larger than all of Stanley Park and use almost as much power as the entire city of Edmonton. They are building a new natural gas plant to power it.
Is this what Canadians voted for?
It really just bums me out that we have the resources to fix our society, stop our reliance on fossil fuels, guarantee healthcare, house the homeless, and feed every person in the country, but doing so would be a bad time for like, 8 men, so we can’t do it.
No.
Fucking.
No.
This is unnacceptable. We do not have to cave to these fucking greedy psychos who wanna use up all of our electricity and water just to spy on us and replace us and feed us fucking slop.
Fuck these people. Fuck data centers. Fuck AI. FUCK THIS WHOLE SYSTEM!
