Overwatch seems to be very damaging to barley that has a high stubble cover. These two paddocks are next to each other, the one burnt the other stubble mulched.
@BenJFindlay Excellent idea just be aware that it leaves the soil loose and with the high intensity storms we are experiencing there is the high risk of soil movement if there is any slope.

Increasing seeding rate plus a robust fungicide package can reduce the difference. Also blending new with retained works very well.
@JamesMadden36 Have found the same in some canola. Looks like frost has damaged stems resulting in pods drying prematurely. Have the problem of 20-30% dry pods before the rest got to 70%. These are shattering. Probably best to direct harvest.
@AgroJAK Thanks John, any comments on Whistler wheat. Have some paddocks running to head that was sown early April? Is this due to off types in seed or just too early for Whistler. Only 20-30% seems to be running to head. The head is half way up stem already.
@AgroJAK This year there is plenty of feed with grazing canola bulking up fast. If you do not have enough sheep to keep mowed down, can you just shut paddock and let it go to a grain yield? Can it be too bulky? This is what it looks like now. I have suggested to just leave?
