It is truly disappointing to see an elected official treat a former party member with such mockery.
Every member, especially one who feels compelled to resign out of dissatisfaction, deserves to be heard rather than ridiculed.
Engaging in sarcasm instead of addressing valid concerns about party democracy only widens the gap between the leadership and those they represent.
@LabourParty is it acceptable for an elected official to behave in this manner towards members?
Frankly, such behaviour might be expected from a member of the Reform Party, but it is entirely unbecoming of a member of the Labour Party.
I hope that when the next election comes around, the voters make it clear to you exactly what they think of this attitude.

Treating us with contempt- BUT "faster & bolder" ie the current cliche
* Ministerial jobs - Andy doesn't horse trade.
Really ?
So, explain to us how he became Makerfield MP.
* The PLP has decided who should be Party Leader.
Members ?
The real legacy of this week won't be who becomes leader.
It will be whether Labour members believe their loyalty is valued only until power changes hands.
Every political party depends on trust.
Once members lose it, rebuilding it is far harder than winning an election.

Viviane has been a fantastic activist for Labour, our CLP regularly made use of her updates on the government's achievements to keep members informed and counteract the negative media narrative. I am sad she felt she had to leave and surprised by that councillor's glib response!
Unsurprisingly, this post is not going down very well with Labour members/recently resigned members.
Even leaving aside his treachery, the level of narcissism is quite extraordinary.
It’s too late now! The Labour Party are going to come to regret putting Burnham through no more test than a by election where he wasn’t even pressed on a single policy in detail. They know they’d rip the Tories a new one for trying anything like this.
When the media kept telling us how much Keir Starmer was hated, they weren’t really talking about voters, were they?
They were talking about the Parliamentary Labour Party, his MPs, his ‘colleagues’…
On a purely human level I’m glad he no longer has to withstand such malice.
Alongside Keir Starmer. I will be sitting back, arms folded, as a fractious Labour party returns. Infighting, power struggles, protests, and Unions flexing their muscles are all on the cards
Only Blair and Starmer understood the importance of appealing to a broader church & unity
All the Labour MPs telling us that @andyburnham has earned the job & is likeable need to explain themselves & tell us why 🤔Honestly how can anyone who is so snide & arrogant who has treated SKS,the voters & party members with such contempt be any of these things 🤨#NotMyPM
@lukeakehurst And not one member.
And THAT is a problem for you.
Some Labour MPs staged a coup. Now you are all falling over yourselves to be a part of it.
I'm glad I resigned my membership. This isn't democratic. This isn't Labour. This is what the Tories do. You are no better than them
High profile interviews by Lucy Powell and Louis Haigh over past few days really making some in the PLP jittery. “Are we really meant to accept this lot are up to it?” one backbencher texts.
When you consider all the shenanigans with the Burnham Coup which was over 12 months in the planning it is easy to come to the conclusion that as a Party we are fucked. How we could ever make a plotting backstabber the leader. How the fuck was this allowed to happen @UKLabour.
Louise Haigh is poison. She told @Keir_Starmer that if he didn't resign the contest would be "brutal". Who else did she threaten?
@andyburnham's political capital is not that substantial. No membership vote, members resigning, MPs pressured to support him? It's a tinder box.
So the only way you could get into No.10 @andyburnham was by a coup..by underhanded traitorous devious behaviour and you really think this is OK.. just shows us what type of man you are..you are not a match on @Keir_Starmer ..you will never fill his shoes...just saying..
@thomasbowell Your pompous and snidey comments say so much about you and the 'new' leadership of the party. I agree with Viviane and also resigned my membership for very similar reasons after voting Labour for 50 years. I suppose we and others like us are expendable in your eyes.
