ποΈ More new social housing on its way: we're putting the final touches on these 99 one to four-bedroom council homes in Greenwich Peninsula, part of 1,750 weβre creating all over the borough for people on the housing register. ποΈ
ποΈ Today, we were honoured to host a Srebrenica Memorial event at Woolwich Town Hall.
The Mayor, Councillor Gardner was joined by faith leaders, members of the Bosnian community and council staff to light candles in their honour, and raise the Srebrenica flag. π
@hilarybennmp Spent many weeks with George in the 1986 Knowsley North by-election and then again when he was a Home Office minister. A very decent man.
https://t.co/25WwphefjQ This is an absolute travesty and disgrace. @FIFAWorldCup must reverse this perverse decision and Infantino has no choice but to resign.
Last Sunday the 185.2 mile Thames Path Relay finished at Woolwich Foot Tunnel, when Jackie Gower from West London Ramblers handed the Acorn Baton to David Gardner, Mayor of Greenwich, watched by a happy crowd of walkers celebrating the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Thames Path National Trail ππ

@Kumail_Jaffer@_BusinessLDN But we meed a strong premise that all new London homes and developments are car free (apart from blue badge, EV car clubs + service vehicles).
Greenwich Town Centre has the UNESCO heritage site, the Naval College & Museum, Cutty Sark, market & shops.
But it's cursed with too much dangerous traffic.
We're working with @Royal_Greenwich to make it safer for visitors, pedestrians & cyclists.

When we give someone a visa to come to the UK, it must be clear why and what is expected of them. Not chop and change the rules retrospectively so that they can't contribute to our society.
When we give someone sanctuary we must be clear they have a well founded fear or persecution and that integration is our shared priority.
Policies like this do little to help achieve those basic commonsense objectives.

Yesterday the Acorn Baton travelled from Cutty Sark to Woolwich Foot Tunnel, now the official 'end' of the Thames Path National Trail, on Day 24 of the Thames Path Relay celebrating 30 years of the National Trail. There've been a few diversions since then π π the latest here...π§΅
