@mishii921 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely Hi Mayuko, I think what you're saying is true. Not all athletes will go on to professional sports, and if they didn't do well in school because of their commitment to sports, they will have a very difficult time looking for jobs after they graduate.

Often times within sports culture, very little incentive is given to student-athletes to do well in school. This starts as early as high school and several students who plan to move into intercollegiate sports have very low GPA's. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@tanyamart98 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I think you bring up a good point. Several students work on camps with work study, and athletes should also be compensated for the hard work that they do. The NCAA should no longer be able to use student athletes for their own benefit.
The NCAA only cares about the business aspect of athletes and the sports they play. In the O'Bannon case, they did not discuss using the athletes faces and likeness and when confronted did not want to pay what was rightfully owed. #UCR150 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
@BadajozSelena@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I agree with what you're saying here because it shows how much student athletes are not given the most careful consideration needed to live healthy lives. If someone hopes to go pro after college, they won't have that chance if they are injured. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
Sports injuries need to be taken more seriously, considering the fact that many injuries can have life long impressions especially when it comes to concussions. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
While Title IX states that no one should be denied benefits on the basis of gender, money is something that is certainly beneficial to sports. It is used to pay for uniforms, travel expenses, better coaches etc... @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #UCR150
@mishii921 @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I think you bring up an excellent point here, considering several students have joined a school for a specific coach, only to find out days later that the coach has left the school. @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #UCR150
It is unfair that students are unable to switch schools after they have signed their contract. This makes it difficult for students who have been recruited by a school that ends up being too expensive for them down the line. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
The NCAA is benefitting from their self-serving definition of amateurism, and changing it to benefit themselves over time, only to use college students how they want.
College athletes, who are primarily students, should have a closer relationship with the university beyond just their athletic involvement. They have a voice and it needs to be heard just as well as any other student. #EDU150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
