The promise of gig work is broken. We want to help fix it. We believe it's the fundamental right of every gig worker to control their own time and labor.
We haven't given up - we are just getting started!

We will keep building. We will keep pushing forward on principles that improve customer outcomes, drive societal change for the better, and refuse to accept that just because this is the way things are, that this is the way they have to be. (2/2)
According to @DoorDash this is "an image of the delivery, proving the order was delivered"
This image, of a house in broad daylight with nothing at the door, showed proof of an 8pm delivery of food.
Bonus: Door Dash also states that we did not communicate with them about this.
Good to see tip transparency for gig workers being enforced! This time with Amazon Flex.@AGKarlRacine (DC attorney General) is a leader on this. His team also did the 2020 lawsuit against DD for similar tip stealing.

new: DC Attorney General Karl Racine is suing Amazon “for stealing tips from delivery workers through a deceptive, illegal scheme that tricked consumers into thinking they were increasing drivers’ compensation” but were in fact defraying Amazon’s labor costs, his office announces

@emmavaninwegen Similar to consumer cases about gig companies using customer tips to fulfill their own company obligations toward gig worker pay. (There’s also potential labor violations of course but it’s been brought under consumer theory). https://t.co/PraaF1zZjc
We really need something definitive, but I gotta be honest, I don't trust either side of the aisle to do it right. Both sides are more interested in protecting their special interests than doing right for the people involved.
Here's the problem with this whole employee vs independent contractor thing: There's no law saying "this is when you're an employee and when you aren't."
All we have are interpretations, and interpretations of interpretations. IRS, DOL, and states have different interpretations
@Getaround I haven’t been parked in the middle of the ocean for the last 20 mins….can I please end my trip? Something’s really wrong with your tracking.
