The thoughts and prayers of everyone at @ScotRail are with those involved in the Bedford incident. We are sending our love and support to our @EastMidRailway colleagues today.
A message about yesterday's tragic rail incident near Bedford.
Joanne Maguire, ScotRail Managing Director, said:
“We were saddened to learn of yesterday’s incident involving two East Midlands Railway passenger trains near Bedford.
“Our thoughts are with everyone involved, and their families, friends and our colleagues at East Midlands.
“We know the emergency services and railway staff are doing all they can to help anyone involved in the incident in what is still an ongoing and developing situation.
“The safety of passengers on the railway is always the highest priority for our industry, and we are ready to offer any support we can to our colleagues at East Midlands.”
I recorded a podcast with @CahonasScotland about what it was like to have cancer.
It may feel a touch heavy just before Christmas, but ultimately it’s a story of faith, hope, and recovery.

Today is the fifth anniversary of the tragic derailment at Carmont, when we lost our colleagues Brett McCullough and Donald Dinnie, and passenger Christopher Stuchbury.
Our thoughts are with their friends, families, and everyone across the railway family affected by
the tragedy.
We will never forget.
⚠ TRAVEL ADVICE FOR THURSDAY, 02 JANUARY 2025
👷♂️ Ahead of the return of ScotRail services tomorrow (Thursday, 2 January), colleagues at Network Rail have been checking routes across the network.
📲 Our advice to customers is to check our website or app before you travel.
📢 Our Air Ops team has inspected the Highland Main Line between Perth-Inverness, Perth–Aberdeen and the Aberdeen–Inverness routes.
They’ve confirmed that other than the issues at Dalguise and Kingussie (📸) on the Highland Main Line, no other concerns have been found. /1
Hi Carol,
There are no plans to close ticket offices (and staff hours across the network will remain the same as today). I’d be grateful if you updated your post.
We must stand against @ScotRail’s plans to close ticket offices and reduce hours with staff. They are a vital resource for so many - in particular people with disabilities and women at isolated stations. #StationsNeedStaff
Coinciding with the Christmas season, our 'Respect rail workers' campaign pledges that partner organisations will work together to ensure staff feel protected and supported when faced with unacceptable behaviour. Nobody should face abuse at their work.

Today on #InternationalDisabledPeoplesDay I am proud of the work @Tanni_GT@LordOrk@scotrail and I have done together to change the policy on the use of Scooters.
These changes will make the railway in Scotland more accessible to people who use scooters🎉.
Hi Pauline, happy to catch up with you about this, but it’s not true to say we are closing ticket offices. No ticket offices are closing as part of this change. Hopefully you can update your post to reflect that.
